Wilderness & Remote First Aid

Train to recognize and manage medical emergencies when help is delayed or unavailable. This Wilderness & Remote First Aid course focuses on patient care in austere environments where evacuation, limited resources, and extended care are real factors.

You’ll learn how to assess patients, manage injuries and illnesses, and make critical decisions in remote settings, including when to treat, monitor, or evacuate.

Students can choose between certification through the American Red Cross or the Emergency Care & Safety Institute. A current Adult CPR/AED certification is required prior to attendance.

Course Length Options:

  • 1-Day (8 Hour) WFA – (ECSI)
    Focused introduction to core wilderness first aid concepts and immediate care skills

  • 2-Day (16 Hour) WFA – (Red Cross or ECSI)
    Meets most Wilderness First Aid requirements for outdoor programs and organizations

  • 4-Day (36 Hour) Intensive WFA – (ECSI)
    Expanded training with deeper scenarios, extended care, and advanced decision-making

First Aid for Severe Trauma (FAST) -

First Aid for Severe Trauma (FAST) is a hands-on course focused on recognizing and managing life-threatening injuries before advanced medical care arrives. This training emphasizes rapid assessment, hemorrhage control, and decisive action in high-stress situations such as accidents, workplace injuries, disasters, and violent incidents.

Students train using realistic bleeding simulators that replicate severe hemorrhage, allowing repeated practice of critical skills including tourniquet application, wound packing, and direct pressure techniques. This scenario-based approach builds speed, confidence, and accuracy under stress.

The course is aligned with national bleeding control principles and qualifies as a Stop the Bleed program.

Babysitter Certification -

The Babysitter Certification course prepares youth to safely and responsibly care for children while building confidence, leadership, and sound decision-making skills. This course follows the curriculum established by the American Red Cross and is designed for both new and experienced babysitters.

Participants learn how to prevent emergencies, respond to common injuries and illnesses, and manage real-world childcare situations in a calm and professional manner. Emphasis is placed on safety, responsibility, and effective communication with both children and parents.
